Poles and Ground Sockets
Any Purple Martin nesting system must be safe. Safe for the birds and safe for the host. The pole must be able to support the system in even the most harsh weathers remembering that guide lines are not recommended because they can attract predators as well as conduct electricity! The fully occupied system can get heavy. The pole must not buckle. Further, the pole must be securely mounted in a sufficiently deep hole, preferably lined for each removal.
