Although butterflies do not lay their eggs in butterfly houses, the houses serve an important function. Butterflies are delicate creatures with large wings that must be kept dry and pristine. Placing a butterfly house near a garden will help the butterflies find much needed shelter from wind and rain and enable them to protect their wings.
